The Commercial Bakery has been supplying Melbourne’s cafes and restaurants with artisan bread and pastries for over ten years. During this time we have earned a reputation for being a bakery that focuses on the ancient ‘tried and true’ bread making processes, using formulaic sourdough recipes and our own leaven. We offer a select range of sourdough, rye, multi grain and fruit loaves as well as beautiful pastries and sweets. Although primarily we are a wholesale bakery we do offer our products through our alleyway cafe on Little Collins Street where you can come and pick up a loaf or sit down for an espresso and a panini.
Our bread is made fresh every day using bio-dynamic flour from Weston Milling and we use free range eggs in all our pastries.
We believe what sets us apart is our value for quality ingredients and produce. We are proud to source our ingredients from the best producers not only in Melbourne but throughout the world. We strive to bring authenticity to our products and as such; we exclusively use Deshel chocolate in our pan au chocolates and pastries which we import from France, all of our sultanas and raisins used in our danishes are locally sourced and organic, our honey is locally produced by our friends at Costa and our nuts which you will find in many of our tarts and brownies are all DOP imported from Noto in Italy.
We make all of our products from scratch with lots of love and plenty of passion, from the home made jam in the Berry Crostata to the silky custard in our bombolone.
